WATT HIGH DENSITY CARTRIDGE HEATERS

watt high-density Cartridge Heaters have superior design compared to conventional
Cartridge Heaters. Coil made from top quality Nickle Chromium wire is precisely
placed inside the tube and the tube is filled with high purity Magnesium Oxide
Powder. This unit is then swaged to compact the insulation. This compacting of
the insulation results in faster heat transfer and heater can withstand normal
shocks and vibrations. S.S. or Incoloy is used as the standard sheath material.
These heaters are also available with 'Built In' Thermocouples ( J or K
type) which are useful where it is not possible to put a sensor.
Sizes
available are 5/16 " or 8 mm onwards in diameter and 3 " or 75 mm onwards
in the length. Wattages available are up to 100 watts per sq. inch of sheath area.
IMPORTANCE OF PROPER SIZE HOLES: - The most important thing to remember
about the installation of the cartridge heater is that the cartridge should be
close fit in the hole into which it is inserted. This results in faster heat transfer
to the surrounding material and aids in keeping the element as cool as possible
for long life. The holes should always finish- ream drilled to ensure uniform
metal to metal contact.
INSTALLATION: - The receptable hole should
be free from oil, dust, rust etc. before Cartridge Heater installation to avoid
contamination and short heater life.
